One obvious advantage of this type of image gallery is that there is more than enough room for any amount of text relating to the product on offer.
The more information you can provide the potential buyer with, the more confident they are likely to be when making buying decisions.

One minor issue with this format of image swaps is that the images have to be of equal proportions to display properly.
For example if the first large image is square, all the others in the set need to be square (the thumbnails aren't an issue as they are generated when the large image is processed.
If you would like us to process the cropping of images to similar proportions this will normally be done at no extra charge.
In theory though, all your images are likely to be the same aspect ratio, especially if taken with the same digital camera at the same time.
